Auntie Babettes, Cheers to National Beer Lovers Day!

Cheers to National Beer Lovers Day!
Hey beer lovers, September 7 is National Beer Lovers Day.
April 7, 2016, is the 83rd anniversary of the Cullen-Harrison Act signed by President Roosevelt to end prohibition.  After signing the legislation, Roosevelt was quoted as saying:
“I think this would be a good time for a beer.”
It is said that beer is the world’s most widely consumed alcoholic beverage and the 3rd most popular drink overall, after water and tea.  I agree.  With the addition of coffee, life is complete.
“He was a wise man who invented beer.” – Plato

Beer is a versatile libation. In addition to soothing the inside of the tummy, try some of these ideas for yourself.
Soothe tired feet – Pour a couple cold ones into a container to soak tired feet.  The carbonation can be soothing for tired feet and yeast from the beer will leave skin silky and smooth.
Shampoo hair – In a small saucepan bring one cup of beer to a boil and let it reduce to ¼ cup. Let cool, and add then mix it with one cup of your favorite shampoo.  Save in an empty shampoo bottle.  Wash and rinse as usual for shiny luscious locks.
Polish pots – Pour some beer on your Revere Ware pots, let sit for a while then wipe off.  Your cookware will look as good as new.
Calm an upset stomach – I’m told that a beer will settle an upset stomach just like Sprite, only better.  The alcohol helps to buffer pain.
Marinate meat – Beer is slightly acidic and makes a great meat tenderizer.
Boil Shrimp and Lobster – Use flat beer instead of water to boil shrimp and lobster.  Don’t forget to add Old Bay Seasoning for flavor.

Have a great day, and remember the words of a very smart man --
“Beer, it’s the best damn drink in the world.” – Jack Nicholson
